How I Saved $8,500 Using The Mexican Dental Care System
I’m Brian Garvin, currently from Oceanside, Ca. which is North San Diego County and about an hour north of the Tijuana Mexico border. About two weeks ago one of my teeth were really aching, so I went to a local Oceanside Dentist for a Dental Care estimate.
After Finding out I needed One Root Canal, 4 Crowns, 7 Fillings and Chipped Tooth work, this Oceanside Dentist wanted me to pay close to $10,000. They even offered me a convenient one-year financing plan, with interest of course, which ended up being $967 a month or something like that.
Many of you reading this can probably relate to what I’m saying here when I say I just straight up didn’t have that kind of money for Dental Care alone, but, it was a catch 22 I still needed to get my teeth done. I’m an honorably discharged Veteran with 40% coverage, which means all my medical is covered but no dental. So I’ve heard of several occasions that you can get your teeth done in Mexico for pennies on the dollar, and people save a mint doing it.
I was desperate for a solution, so I drove my car South on the I-5 Freeway until I got to the last exit. It’s the very, very last exit before you are forced to drive into Mexico. Then I made a left and a quick right turn right before the McDonalds and parked at one of the paid parking places, so my car was still on U.S. Soil.
